BECTU announces financial service for members

The Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union (BECTU) have appointed a firm of financial consultants to give free advice to members.
Berry, Birch & Noble (BBN), one of the UK's leading independent financial advisors, are offering members of the union expert advice ranging from pension planning to inheritance tax.
As a registered independent advisor, the company is able to offer members financial products from the whole market and is not tied to any specific finance house. BBN was set up through Unity Trust Bank, the union-owned bank that handles BECTU's own finances.
In addition to free individual advice, BBN will attend seminars, for example, when groups of members face redundancy or early retirement.
BECTU represents permanently employed, contract and freelance workers within the film, theatre and television sectors. BECTU, founded in 1991 after a series of mergers between separate unions during the 1980s, offers a wide range of services to its more than 25,000 members.
BECTU members can access BBN's free services by ringing +44 (0) 808 172 0001.
