BECTU Candidates Confirmed

The UK's media and entertainment trade union have announced the candidates seeking election as union president and those to the NEC have been confirmed by the independent scrutineers, Electoral Reform Ballot Services.
BECTU's nominations closed on Monday 1 March and were subject to authentication by the ERBS. Candidates are as follows:

• Election for president: Three candidates have been confirmed (1 to be elected): Christine Bond, Peter Cox and John Handley
• NEC representatives, BBC Division (4 to be elected): Alastair Hendrie, Dave Langton/Charlotte Simon (‘job-share’), Jane Perry, Winston Phillips and Mark Rivers
• London Production Division (4 to be elected): Benetta Adamson, Tunji Akinsehinwa, Peter Cox, Mike Dick, Nick Ray
• Regional Production Division (2 to be elected): Christine Bond, John Handley, Drew Hartley and Ann Jones

Note: on the closing date of the ballots the independent scrutineer counted the votes for president first. The successful candidate was then withdrawn from the respective divisional ballot.
Ballot papers for the contested elections are due to go out to members shortly, and must be returned to the independent scrutineer, Electoral Reform Ballot Services, by 30th April. The results will be embargoed until the close of annual conference on 15th May.
