Academy President Re-elected

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced that the Board of Directors has re-elected its President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a two-year term.
Bruce Paisner, has been at the helm of The International Academy since January 2004.
The election was held just hours before the 37th International Emmy Awards Gala during which Sir David Frost, one of the preeminent television figures of the 20th century was presented with the International Emmy Founders award and Markus Schächter, Director General ZDF was be presented with the International Emmy Directorate award.
Paisner commented: "I am mindful of the fact that it is a great honour to be asked by my industry colleagues to serve a fourth term as President and CEO of the International Academy.
"This is a great organisation and it continues to grow in stature and visibility around the world. We are very proud of our Emmy competition and of the activities we organise for our members who hail from over 50 countries," he said.
Paisner is a long-term executive at Hearst Corporation and now serves as advisor to the CEO of Hearst and supervises Hearst's Cosmopolitan-TV networks in Spain, Latin America and Canada.
After his re-election, Paisner re-appointed Fred Cohen as Chairman of the organisation. He starts his new term on the 1st January, 2010.
