               Keith Grant Receives 'Lifetime' Membership

In honour of his truly legendary status in the UK music recording world, the Music Producers Guild (UK) has presented Keith Grant with a lifetime membership.
Keith has been recording music for over 50 years, and has earned the respect of many successful and talented Record Producers, Engineers and Recording Artists.
He began his career in Regent Sound Studios in Denmark Street, London, when he was just 16 years old. After a short spell at IBC Studios, he then moved to Olympic just before the studio relocated in Barnes in 1966. It was while he was working at Olympic that Grant’s recording career really took off, with artists such as Dusty Springfield, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra and Shirley Bassey all benefiting from his skill in the control room. Since those heady days he has worked with many more of the great names of the music industry including serious rock bands such as Cream, Pink Floyd, The Yardbirds, Sonny Boy Williamson, Procul Harum, The Faces, The BeeGees, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Graham Bond. His appetite for jazz has led him to record many artists in New York, including Woody Herman Live at Carnegie Hall and three albums with Buddy Rich.
Grant is also well respected as a Film Mixer, having worked on numerous classics including The Italian Job, The English Patient, Life Of Brian, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jesus Christ Superstar.
In 1989 Grant left Olympic when it was bought by Virgin and established DeAphasa Post Productions, which he ran very successfully until his retirement in 2008.
Mick Glossop, Director of the Music Producers Guild commented: "We were delighted to see Keith at our recent 2010 Awards, where he accepted the Joe Meek Award on behalf of the late Les Paul. We are also delighted that he has accepted a lifetime membership of the Music producers Guild because he is a perfect example of the creativity and talent that this organisation aims to promote."
Commenting on his lifetime membership, Keith Grant said: "I am very honoured to receive a lifetime membership and to be asked to accept Les Paul's Joe Meek Award, especially as I worked with Joe – a man with whom I had many things in common."
