Primera Announces DP-PRO Xi-Series

Just in time for London's Broadcast Video Expo, one of the best known manufacturers of CD/DVD and Blu-ray Disc publishers has announced the launch of their new product.
Primera Technology, Inc. will be introducing the new DP-PRO Xi-Series at the Broadcast Video Expo & Production Show 2010.
DP-PRO Xi-Series Disc Publishers are new and improved versions of Primera’s award-winning DP-PRO Disc Publishers. With their built-in high-speed recorders, direct-to-disc printing and fast robotics, these desktop units automate the process of burning and printing quantities of CDs and DVDs.
Features of the Xi-Series include: 300% faster robotics for higher throughput, interior blue LED lighting with job status feedback, seventh-generation disc picking mechanism and compatibility with Windows XP/Vista/7, Mac OS X 10.5 (or higher) and optional Blu-ray Disc recordable drives.
Three Xi-Series models are be available: The DP-PRO Xi AutoPrinter - 100-disc capacity for print-only applications (172 discs per hour), the DP-PRO Xi Disc Publisher - 100-disc capacity and one high-speed CD/DVD drive (32 discs per hour) and finally the DP-PRO Xi2 Disc Publisher - 100-disc capacity and two high-speed CD/DVD drives (60 discs per hour.)
In some applications such as medical imaging and video/audio-on-demand it is imperative that discs can be dispensed out the front of the unit. On the DP-Pro Xi-Series, this is an automatic, built-in feature.
DP-Pro Xi-Series also has two software-selectable input bins. This means that the media type in each input bin can be different: e.g. 50 CDs on the left and 50 DVDs on the right, or 50 DVDs on the left and 50 BD-Rs on the right. Whatever combination works best for the application. That feature saves the time and trouble of switching out media when a different type is required for a particular job.
Primera's AccuDisc picking technology uses patented, precision mechanics and software to know that it has picked just one disc at a time. This prevents misfeeds and double discs which can not only interrupt operation but can even damage recording drives. Now in its seventh generation, AccuDisc has been further optimised for speed. As a result, disc picking is up to 200% faster than before.
Mark D. Strobel, Primera’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing commented: "DP-PRO Xi-Series Disc Publishers deliver a level of price and performance not seen before in our industry. We’ve taken all the best features from DP-PRO - the world’s best-selling two-drive disc publisher, and enhanced them to deliver the most compelling and feature-rich 100-disc capacity disc publishers available today."
