Applications Invited For Digital Shorts

Northwest Vision and Media, which works on behalf of the digital and creative industries in the region, is inviting applications for its Digital Shorts scheme 2009/10.
Funded by Northwest Vision and Media and the UK Film Council, the aim of the scheme is to provide an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to develop their professional experience and create high quality digital films, with cinematic and appeal to a broad range of audiences.
Northwest Vision and Media will commission up to six engaging films of no more than 15 minutes and with cinematic and appeal to a broad range of audiences.

The Digital Shorts scheme is also aimed at new and experienced writers and directors with a track record in shorts or similar experience in another filmmaking medium, and producers who have a track record and the ability to deliver a project on a budget.
The initiative is also open to those working in theatre, new media and artist film and video who are interested in moving into cinematic , narrative filmmaking.
Will Massa, New Talent Film Executive at Northwest Vision and Media, said: "We're searching for new stories that show passion and imagination. These should be projects that are unique and challenging, which progress filmmaker's capabilities and develop their individual voice while also having the potential to screen at festivals nationally and internationally."
The deadline for applications is November 5, 2009.
