About Brighton Film School

With fantastic facilities, dedicated industry lecturers and speakers and a central location in a filmmakers city such as Brighton, our mission is to deliver practical courses and train the next generation of talented filmmakers wishing to enter the British film industry.

Our flagship courses are the 2-year Filmmaking HND and Set Design for Film and TV HND programmes (equivalent to the first 2 years of a degree) and the Film Production BA (Hons) Top-up Degree. These courses are very practical, industry led, fully accredited and funding is available through the student loan system to pay for your tuition fees. In addition, the school also delivers an industry focused Cinematography and Directing Diploma and the Set Design for Film and TV Diploma. These 9-month long courses will give you the skills and confidence to enter the film industry either as a freelancer, independent filmmaker or other career paths.

Brighton Film School also runs several shorter courses aimed at beginners of those wanting to study film part-time, for leisure or as an entry point to film school. These include courses in filmmaking, screenwriting, set design, plus our special Summer School.

For younger filmmakers aged 15-17 we offer a Brighton Young Filmmakers after school club and our special Summer School Juniors. Both are extremely popular and early application is advised.

You are very welcome to visit the school to view our facilities and ask our tutors your questions on one of our open days. Please call or email our office to book first.

If you are serious about film then you'll love us. Apply now either directly or via UCAS and start your career in filmmaking or set design with Brighton Film School.
