‘THE WARRIOR’ SCOOPS GOLDEN HITCHCOCK AWARD

DIRECTOR Asif Kapadia's ‘The Warrior’ has won the top award, the Golden Hitchcock, at the 12th Dinard Festival of British Film sponsored by the Film Council.
The Jury President, Emily Watson, said that the jury had been split on their decision but agreed to award ‘The Warrior’ as it had "opened new doors" in its cinematography and story trekking techniques.
‘The Lawless Heart’ written and directed by Neil Hunter and Tom Hunsinger received a special mention from the jury.
The Dinard audience award went to ‘On The Edge’ directed by John Carney and starring Cillian Murphy, Stephen Rea and Tricia Vessey. The film also took the Prix Kodak for Best Photography. (CD)
