Custom Consoles desk chosen for 124 facilities

Custom Consoles has installed one of London's longest video production desks at 124 Facilities in Westminster.
Occupying the full length of 124’s Edit Suite 9, the desk hosts two operating areas. An Avid Symphony editing system is housed in the left section with a Discreet Logic Combustion graphics station and Aston Ethos character generator to the right.
The desk incorporates two equipment bays accommodating VTRs and interfaces between floor and work-surface level. Three moveable pods on the top surface provide raised support areas for picture monitors and ancillary equipment. The design is profiled to delineate the editing and graphics areas. Construction is from MDF, finished in beech veneer with dark-grey Marmoleum horizontal surfaces.
Robert Luggar, Manager of Engineering Projects at Channel 4, said:"The desk was designed and prefabricated by Custom Consoles to a brief supplied by Channel 4 Television which provides project engineering services for 124 Facilities. Delivered in sections and assembled on-site, it is a large structure by studio furniture standards: 4.85 metres in length and 1.5 metres front-to-back."
