Custom Consoles Completes Video Production Studio

Custom Consoles has announced the completion of a Module-R studio control desk for a new video production facility at the UK city-centre premises of a major international financial services company. It will be used to create a wide variety of content promoting the company's services.

The requirement was for an eight-bay wide rectangular desk configured for use by a team of up to four operators. To fit the available room dimensions, a compact version of Module-R, Module-R Lite, was recommended. This has a front to back depth of 95 cm compared with the 120 cm depth of the standard version. A video production switcher occupies bay three of the worktop and a 16-channel digital audio mixer at bay seven.

Gary Fuller, Custom Consoles' Sales Manager, said: "The desk provided for this contract includes accommodation for 24U of standard 19 inch equipment rack space distributed between seven sloping-front pods along the rear of the worktop. Video monitor displays are mounted above the pods, each mount allowing easy adjustment of vertical and horizontal viewing angle. The front-to-back worktop distance is more than half a metre to accommodate computer-related control keyboards, pointing devices and scripts.
