Tinmouse Animation Presents 'Love Letters'

News Image
Tinmouse Animation Studio has released 'Love Letters', a short film created to promote the selfless work that all the nurses do at Myton Hospice.

Love Letters tells the true story of the lifelong love that Lily, an elderly lady in the care of Myton, had for her husband Albert. Sadly her husband had died a few years previously and it was her lasting wish to hear the words of her husband once more through all the letters that he had written whilst they were courting. Along with these and a shoebox full of memories, the Myton nurses made sure that Lily's last months were some of her happiest as she got to travel back in time to some of her most memorable and treasured moments.

It only takes a kind ear, a holding of hands or talking to someone who cares to make the biggest difference and it's this work that Myton nurses do each and everyday that makes those tough times seem bearable.

Tinmouse Animation said they were "so humbled" to get the opportunity to make this film and during its production, the team thought of Lily and how special their own lives were and how precious life was with the ones we love.

Tinmouse worked together with agency Gingernut Creative, who wrote the script, for the short film. It was created using ToonBoom and After Effects to produce a film that looked hand crafted and homely. Using hand drawn techniques, the team was able to fully encapsulate their and Myton's vision of a touching story with animation only being the medium and not overshadowing the strong narrative.

Ruth Freeman, Director for Marketing for The Myton Hospices, said: "We are incredibly proud of our new Love Letters film and feel it really highlights the difference Myton care can make. Making someone feel better isn't always just about medicine – sometimes holding a hand, talking to someone and listening to their memories can make the biggest difference. We passionately believe that the last moments of someone's life are equally as important as the beginning and we will do everything we can to ensure final wishes are met."

Love Letters has already received an emotional response from Myton staff, patient relatives and volunteers. The film can be viewed here.
