CINEMA TOUR FOR S4C’S FILM

S4C, the public service broadcaster for Wales, have announced that another of the channel’s films, ‘Oed yr Addewid’ (‘Do Not Go Gentle’), will now be shown in cinemas during the next three months.
S4C’s 90-minute production was launched during the International Film Festival and the film was written and directed by Emlyn Williams.
‘Oed yr Addewid’ addresses the subject of homelife and, in particular, one family’s different perceptions of it. The story is set in the Welsh-speaking heartland of north west Wales and takes place during the weeks leading up to the 1997 General Election, when the Conservative party were removed from power after 18 years in government.
S4C’s Film Festival’s Officer, Gwydion Griffiths, said: “The cinema tours of ‘Gor y Gwyrthiau’ and Oscar-nominated ‘Solomon a Gaenor’ have been very successful and S4C are delighted to be showing ‘Oed yr Addewid’ in cinemas throughout Wales over the coming months.”
Author and Director, Emlyn Williams, began his career in the cutting rooms, and after working as a Film Director in Leeds, London and Birmingham, he returned to Wales. He has directed several award-winning drama series and single films for S4C. His credits include ‘Jabas’, ‘Ewyllys Dda’, ‘Gwynfyd’, ‘O.M.’, ‘Teulu’ and ‘Tair Chwaer’. (CD)
