Concrete Post Produced Wolf Blass Channel Five Sponsorship Coverage For Cricket

Concrete has just completed full post production on the latest high profile Wolf Blass fine vintage wine label sponsorship that includes title sequences and bumpers covering the test series Cricket as well as to promote the upcoming Ashes tour for Channel Five.
Creative Director Morgan Sendall, based at Concrete, was commissioned by Sunset and Vine to design the titles and bumpers for Channel 5's Cricket on 5 programme.
Concrete designed the red and white wine Wolf Blass sponsorship sequences and bumpers covering the West Indies test series, to be followed by coverage of the upcoming Ashes series for Channel Five.
They created a red and white wine 30-second title sequence and eight bumpers for Cricket on 5 that incorporates a strong Wolf Blass branding element combined with updateable footage. Additional variants were also to be provided for the forthcoming Ashes series.
The strap line 'Vintage Performance' underlined the need to find a concept that imaginatively combined Cricket action with the special quality of the wine brand. Morgan came up with an idea that combined two strongly branded central themes: liquid cricketers dramatically evolving out of wine and interacting with cricket action that springs to life from Wolf Blass's distinctive range of wine labels.
The liquid cricketers were created by Aleksandar Stiglic, Senior 3D Digital Artist along with CGI Artists Sajjid Amjad and Jason King at Concrete using motion capture data of real cricketers in Realflow on XSI.
Additional liquid effects and blue screen cricket action was shot with a high speed Phantom Camera at Pirate Studios.
Senior Smoke Artist Marcus Millichope composited the CGI with live-action in Smoke. All post prodcution which was completed at Concrete, included editing, compositing, visual effects, 3D animation, conforming, motion capture, finishing and audio design.
Marcus Millichope, made the wine labels come alive and seamlessly interact with the dramatic liquid cricket action. Dino Sofos, Senior Audio Designer at Concrete created a rich textural sound scape of real and surreal liquid and cricketing sound effects.
