Sony Successful At BVE

Sony used February's Broadcast Video Expo 2009 to review its range of HD solutions.
Visitors to Sony's stand saw a vast array of broadcast solutions that meet every budgetary and production requirement, from HDV, Sony's entry-level format for HD production, through to the industry's de-facto standard for high-end productions, HDCAM and HDCAM SR.
With tens of thousands of XDCAM units in use by major broadcasters and production companies worldwide, Sony UK is enjoying a record sales year for the format and will highlight how its XDCAM EX3 and XDCAM HD422 PDW-700 cameras can transform the way productions can be made across the UK.
Mark Bainbridge, General Manager of Media and Broadcast, Sony Professional, explained what differentiates Sony in the Broadcast Market. "We are number one in the broadcast market because decades of innovation and technology leadership have taught us the importance of understanding and meeting the needs of our customers.

Sony also launched a full HD compact point of view (POV) camera, the HXR-MC1P. This uniquely designed mini cam will give users greater flexibility when capturing dynamic mobile action shots. The show also gave visitors the opportunity to view the HVR-Z5E camera with hybrid recording functionality.
