XL Events Launched

XL Video has announced its new division - XL Events - which has been created by consolidating the corporate division of XL Video and AV specialists Show Support.
Located in both Bromsgrove and Hemel Hempstead the operation will be headed up by Rich Rowley, assisted by an experienced and professional team of over 20 people.
XL Events has been established to offer the latest sound, lighting and AV technology drawing on the experience, resources and project management of the XL Video group of companies in the UK and Europe.
Rowley commented: "We have a vast pool of knowledge and creativity, plus access to a wide variety of equipment.
"As part of the XL Group of companies we have the resources to offer the most comprehensive and cost-effective packages and support involving everything from providing the technical infrastructure to the logistics of making an event happen efficiently."
XL Video Managing Director Lee Spencer said: "We're predicting a very positive future for a company designed to offer flexible, creative, leading-edge solutions in a time of economic volatility."
"XL Events will also fill the void left by other rental companies who are now chasing end-user work."
The XL Group has already invested in excess of half a million pounds in the new company, and predicts to do at least the same again over the next 12 months.
XL Events has access to a vast array of in-house equipment including the latest L-Acoustics dVDOSC, KIVA and d&b Line Array loudspeaker systems with analogue / digital control from Soundcraft, Yamaha and Midas plus a large selection of Shure, Sennheiser radio systems.
Lighting stock consists of conventional, digital and LED lighting. XL Events has invested in Martin Professional moving lights, the Catalyst DL series, along with Philips SSL ColorBlasts and ChromaQ ColorBlock LED, with WholeHog, MA Lighting or Avolites for control.
XL Events will also offer its clients specialist set and content pre-visualisation in 2 or 3D and content creation - either stand-alone or integrated in a package - through its two in-house HD Creation Studios with the latest offline hardware, software and facilities all manned by in-house experts.
Events already include 5,500-seated delegates at the NEC, a European roadshow, televised spectaculars and a series of confidential board-room briefings for example.
Current and upcoming XL Events work includes shows for Price Waterhouse Coopers at the new Atlantis Hotel Dubai, the MPH08 Show in the UK and Ireland and audio and video for a CBeebies production in December/January for BBC Worldwide.
