HHB FlashMic Records More Than 300 Icelanders In Three Months

Imagine writing, recording and hosting a 45-minute radio show in which the audience experiences life in a particular town through a series of interviews with its residents. Now imagine doing that every single day!
For three months this summer, Icelandic journalist Guòmundur Gunnarsson did just that on ‘Flækingur’ (which translates to 'Vagabond' in English), a series he made for Icelandic National Broadcasting and he used the FlashMic from professional audio equipment suppliers HHB.
Gunnarsson reported: "We decided to rely entirely on the HHB FlashMic for recording every interview. I had used it on several programs before and knew its potential. High quality outdoor recording is essential on a project of this type and I can honestly say that the FlashMic worked wonders. It turned out to be extremely reliable and easy to use and the quality of the recordings amazed me - quality that can best be described as 'what you hear is what you get'."
In fact, the Flækingur project probably gave the FlashMic its most rigorous workout to date, presenting literally hundreds of interviewing scenarios in all kinds of environments.
Gunnarsson continued: "The FlashMic gave me the perfect balance between voice and background sounds. I have already recommended it to all of my colleagues, simply because FlashMic is the best recorder I have come across for this kind of media work - and I can say this after travelling for three months with a FlashMic in my backpack interviewing people in their homes, up mountains, out at sea, in towns and on farms. As far as I am concerned, the FlashMic requires no further testing!"
Speaking on behalf of HHB Export Sales, Matthew Fletcher said: "This is exactly what we designed the FlashMic for - capturing high-quality recordings in all conditions with a minimum of fuss, leaving the journalist free to focus on the interview."
The HHB FlashMic combines a studio quality mic capsule with a broadcast-quality Flash recorder and high-speed USB files transfer. In daily use, with many of the world's leading broadcasters, the FlashMic range includes omnidirectional and cardioid models, available with and without line outputs.
