Visions Helps The Nation Celebrate At London's Olympic Handover Party

The BBC selected independent outside broadcast company NEP Visions to provide outside broadcast facilities for its live coverage of the Visa London 2012 Olympics party.
The star-studded event, which took place in The Mall on August 24, was held to celebrate the handover of the Olympic Games from Beijing to London.
The highlight of the show was a concert, featuring performances from big-name artists including Will Young, The Feeling, McFly, James Morrison, Katherine Jenkins and II Divo. There were also interviews with British sporting heroes and a spectacular fly-by from the Royal Air Force's Red Arrows.
Using its flagship HD One production unit, Visions used a total of 20 cameras to cover the event, one of which was located on the roof of nearby Buckingham Palace, and also provided graphics services.
Visions were again working with the Vortex ariel camera mount, which can lift a camera from ground-level to 30 feet in just 15 seconds, providing stunning shots of the stage and surrounding area.
The London 2012 party was broadcast live on BBC One from 3:15pm until 5:00pm. In addition to coverage of the activities in London, the programme also featured feeds from the Closing Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, beamed to crowds on The Mall via giant video screens.
