Complete Telecom Enables Ireland's First Corporate TV Channel

Complete Telecom, the managed network and telecom services provider, has announced the completion of installation of a Cisco Digital Media System (DMS) for CityJet.
This is the first rollout of Cisco's DMS in Ireland. The Cisco Digital Media System is a flexible solution for digital signage and video. It enables CityJet to create informative and educational content for employees on their own in-house TV Channel - the first of its kind in Ireland - as well as providing a valuable marketing tool for the company to present content to its customers at the airport's CityJet operate from.
The DMS is linked to 40" plasma screens at CityJet's offices in Dublin Airport, London City Airport, Charles de Gaulle Airport and at CityJet's engineering centre in Dublin. Content is created by an in-house team, who transmit the new content instantly to all the business units across a secure network.
Neil Wisdom, Sales Director of Complete Telecom, said: "CityJet is bringing a new communications channel to its employees that is completely unique in Ireland. Content can be filmed on digital cameras then uploaded to the system for distribution at the click of a button. Such a distributed and highly mobile team would make it difficult for most companies to keep in touch with staff, but CityJet is keeping ahead of the curve."
Patrick Edmond, Head of Commercial at CityJet, said: "The Cisco Digital Media System heralds a revolution in how we communicate with our employees. Complete Telecom's knowledge of networks and telecoms meant they were able to integrate the units directly into our internal systems and those of our host airports. Information that might have taken days or week to disseminate can now be put up on screens at all our operating locations within seconds."
Programming, such as training video and up-to-the-minute customer support information, can be targeted to individual displays by language or for specific regions at the touch of a button. The system can also be used to quickly alert employees to important company news and changes to schedules or procedures.
This delivers a better customer experience by ensuring staff in all CityJet's operating locations across Europe are kept fully up-to-date on merging news and changing policies as soon as they arise.
The second element of the DMS system involves a video portal that allows CityJet to broadcast the same programmes to its employees over the corporate intranet. Programmes can be accessed at any time from any of CityJet's locations or over the internet through a secure website. This mean that highly mobile staff, such as cabin crew and pilots, can receive training and information wherever they are.
