Raycom Supply CSBS With Wisycom Reporter System

Raycom have supplied a Wisycom UHF Reporter system to CSBC in Scotland for use on major sports events broadcast for TV and Radio.
The first use of the system was for BBC Radio Scotland coverage of the Scottish Open Golf Championship at Loch Lomond in July 2008.
Colin Stephen of CSBC commented on the systems debut, saying: "Our new Wisycom Reporter System was deployed in addition to our now usual set-up of three high-power, on course, radio mics plus commentary box at the eighteenth green.
"The antennas for these mics are situated on a BBC TV hoist near the centre of the course and at a height of approximately 40 metres. The Wisycom antennas, by contrast, were adjacent to the Media Centre, well towards one side of the course and a mere six metres off the ground.
"The performance was remarkable. With the exception of the two furthest extremities of the course, where slight drop out was experienced, it was flawless. A combination of very good signal to noise, with extremely good range, made for excellent coverage of the course. The system is very easy to use and despite the initial capital cost, we consider that it is money well spent."

The Wisycom Reporter system comprises of a portable unit with a high-power radio microphone transmitter (VHF or UHF) and a narrow band cue receiver (UHF). The base station completes the system with a true diversity microphone receiver, a 2W Cue transmitter and PSU (12V DC or 240V AC) in a compact package, making it an ideal choice for both TV and radio sports coverage.
