Macqueen To Go It Alone With Channel 4 Departure

Channel 4 head of documentaries, Angus Macqueen is set to leave the broadcaster to pursue his own filmmaking projects.
The filmmaker whose credits include The Last Peasant and 'The Death of Yugoslavia' is to begin work on feature-length documentary for Channel 4.
Since joining the corporation in March 2006, Macqueen has overseen the expansion of the channel's Cutting Edge strand and been involved in documentaries like Seven Sins of England and Child's Life.
Head of Channel 4, Julian Bellamy commented: "Angus is one of the most distinguished filmmakers, and the channel has benefited from his experience and insight.
"Channel 4 is increasing its commitment to single documentaries in 2008 and we are delighted Angus will bring his next films to us."
Macqueen said: "Becoming the gamekeeper has been a fascinating experience, but at heart I am a poacher, and the lure of making films has proved too strong."
