Sachtler FSB 6 Wins Award At Government Video & Technology Expo

The Sachtler FSB 6 fluid head with FSB CELL has won its fourth award. The head
received the inaugural Government Video Salute Award for the best new products
and technologies at the recent Government Video & Technology Expo in Washington, USA. The awards committee representing Government Video - the magazine hosting the expo - described the FSB 6 with FSB CELL as a particularly clever product innovation for the video branch.
"The GV Expo is an excellent window to the coolest new innovations in the professional video branch," said Mark J. Pescatore, editor of Government Video.
A committee of experts from the magazine’s editorial department were responsible for selecting the best products for the video branch from all those exhibited at the expo. The committee’s role was to focus not only on the individual products and heir features, but also their relationship to, and impact on developments across the entire video branch.
Sachtler’s new FSB 6 fluid head is specially designed for all MiniDV and (H)DV users.
It features three horizontal and three vertical grades of drag plus 0. In keeping with Sachtler requirements for highest quality the head’s damping is based on the
construction principles of the large heads. The FSB 6 has a payload range of 1 to
6kg. Featuring Sachtler’s Snap & Go sideload mechanism with its exceptionally large
sliding range of 120 mm, as well as a 10-step counterbalance, the FSB 6 stands out
in its class.
The FSB 6 also combines with Sachtler’s revolutionary new concept in rechargeable
batteries – the FSB CELL – to create a powerful new team. The FSB CELL, which is
placed directly under the camera plate, features an extremely high capacity (10.5 Ah), guaranteeing maximum shooting flexibility.
The FSB 6 and FSB CELL have previously received three other highly-respected
awards at this year’s NAB: the TV Technology Star Award, Videography Vidy Award
and DV Black Diamond Award.
