Film Council appoint two new directors

The Film Council have made two new appointments to their board of directors.
Nigel Green, joint Managing Director of Entertainment Film Distributors, and Stephen Knibbs, Senior Vice President of UCI cinemas, have been appointed for an initial three year term, and, according to the Film Council, "add significantly to the breadth of knowledge and experience" represented by the other directors, under the chairmanship of Sir Alan Parker.
Sir Alan said: "I am delighted that Nigel and Stephen are joining the Board. They bring a new level of skill to the Board as regards film distribution and exhibition. The timing is good because we are now working on proposals to encourage real structural change in the UK film industry. Expertise from the distribution and exhibition sectors is going to be particularly important over the coming months."
Knibbs and Green replace two outgoing directors, Colin Leventhal and Charles Denton, who have served on the Board since the Film Council's incorporation in November 2001.
