Brick House Video To Present Syntax Converters At IBC

Brick House Video, manufacturer of compact and cost-effective equipment for production and post-production, will present full production versions of the Syntax up/cross-converter on Stand 11.110C at IBC 2007.
Syntax, winner of a TV Technology’s prestigious IBC 2006 STAR award, is based on advanced super-resolution bandlet technology and incorporates comprehensive audio facilities. The unit brings the performance advantages of motion-compensated processing without the currently associated disadvantages of high cost and occasionally severe artefacts. Syntax is a 1RU unit offering up-conversion and cross-conversion with SDI I/O and multi-format inputs.
A long-list of enhancements and upgrades will accompany Brick House Video’s tried and trusted Callisto range. Callisto’s compact design, straightforward controls and multi-format input options make it an ideal choice for live applications. It's commonly used in SNG trucks around the world and is ideally suited for high-pressure environments where quick deployment and ease of use are critical. Callisto's scope of applications is broadening with the incorporation of Hot-Cut and an optional integrated Chroma Keyer. Hot-Cut enables the user to switch asynchronous signals directly on the programme bus with NO freeze frame on the output.
Callisto, available in both rack-mount (2 variants) and portable formats, features dual frame synchronisers and DSK as standard. Callisto-P is an all-in-one DC-powered portable unit with six SDI and six analogue inputs.
Callisto-R (with Callisto-C remote) is an eight SDI and eight optional analogue input model.
Callisto–F is a rack-mount version of Callisto-R that offers full front-panel control for local operation. When combined with the M2100 remote control protocol, Callisto-F serves as a very attractive low-cost master control unit.
All switchers in the Callisto range are full broadcast specification with 10-bit precision throughout. Optional embedded audio switching is also now available on all Callisto switchers.
The award-winning Proteus motion-adaptive standards converter will be at the show in both rack-mount and portable versions. Proteus, recipient of TV Technology’s prestigious IBC 2005 STAR award, is a fully featured broadcast specification standards converter with 10-bit SDI, analogue video and audio I/O, an advanced standards conversion algorithm, comprehensive audio synchronisation facilities and Aspect Ratio Conversion. Proteus offers full format conversion, frame synchronising, TBC, video and audio Proc Amps, audio delay and as well as bi-directional standards (rate) conversion. Proteus addresses lip-sync errors with an optional audio delay (adjustable up to 10 seconds) featuring both tracking and block delay. Proteus is in use with many leading broadcasters worldwide.
