Venice Film Festival Selects Doremi Cinema Technology
The Venice Film Festival has selected Doremi Cinema as its digital cinema technology partner for its 64th edition, running from August 29 to September 8, 2007.
Doremi’s widely adopted mastering station DMS-2000 will be used for the production of the Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) thanks to the expertise of two companies: Bewegte Bilder in Germany and Digimage in France.
In addition, all digital screenings will run on Doremi’s DCP-2000 digital cinema server. The DCP-2000 is the world’s most installed JPEG2000 cinema server with over 3200 installations to date. Features of the server include JPEG2000 and MPEG2 MXF playback, 3D stereoscopic playback, CineLink II encryption, and forensic watermarking.
Doremi Europe’s Managing Director Patrick Zucchetta commented: “We are very proud to have been selected by the 64th Venice Film Festival as the sole cinema player for all digital screens during the festival. Such a decision is a great recognition of Doremi’s leadership in the digital cinema market.”
Mr Luigi Cuciniello, Managing Director of the Cinema Department of La Biennale di Venezia, confirms that this decision has been based on the quality and reliability of Doremi Cinema’s DMS-2000 mastering station and DCP-2000 player, as well as its large market adoption.
Furthermore, La Biennale considers Doremi Cinema an important partner, as the Venice Film Festival is definitely moving to digital cinema.
