Thomson To Demonstrate HD Cameras And Camcorders At Broadcast LIVE 2007

Thomson’s presence at Broadcast Live 2007 underlined its broad media capabilities ranging from HD to IPTV, and broadcasting to events and staging, with the centerpiece of its stand being a demonstration of its high-definition cameras and camcorders.
On display will be the Grass Valley LDK 8000, the latest generation multi-format high definition camera. Launched at IBC2006, it has already won over 500 orders, with leading users around the world choosing the camera for their HD production migration. It will be demonstrated live alongside the Infinity DMC 1000 Digital Media Camcorder, the innovative solution for EFP and ENG which uses IT standard storage, such as REV PRO removable media and professional-grade CompactFlash cards.
Companion product to the Infinity camcorder is the LCP 400 wireless remote controller. This software application running on any Windows mobile device not only gives access to all of the camera’s set-up parameters, it also enables the operator to read, edit, and create metadata which is wrapped with the content essence. This powerful functionality transforms workflows from annotating scripts in drama production to adding editorial information on a news shoot.
Also on display will be the K2 media server, another product which exemplifies Grass Valley’s ‘IT immersion’ approach. This highly scalable server combines a commodity IT fabric – gigabit Ethernet – with application specific software to ensure the performance and reliability required for any mission critical broadcast application.
Finally, reflecting the way that Grass Valley’s approach to digital content and the use of commodity IT technologies has opened new markets for high quality products, the Indigo AV Mixer will also be demonstrated. The Indigo mixer brings together broadcast-style vision mixing – including mixes, wipes, keying, and DVE – with multi-format interfacing for SD, HD, and computer video in and out. Indigo also incorporates an audio mixer with motorized faders for audio-follow-video and user-selectable audio delay for live production lip-sync, all in a single desktop unit designed for solo operation, and priced highly competitively.
See Thomson on stand D10 at Broadcast Live 2007, Earls Court 2, 19 – 21 June.
