Solid State Logic Basks In Success Of AWS 900 Analogue Workstation System

Solid State Logic, a world leading manufacturer of professional digital and analogue consoles, has found remarkable success with the AWS 900 Analogue Workstation System and its recently-introduced, upgraded version, the AWS 900+.
With over 200 systems purchased by elite producer/engineers, recording studios and record companies, the AWS 900/900+ has quickly become SSL's most rapidly successful console ever and sales continue to accelerate as word spreads. Solid State Logic Logic exhibited the AWS 900+ at the 121st Audio Engineering Society Convention, October 6-8 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
From the moment of its introduction in 2004, the original AWS 900 established itself as a unique combination of world-class analogue console and sophisticated DAW controller. The TEC Award-winning AWS 900 has an enviable catalog of credits including the Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang, Alicia Keys's Unplugged and Barbra Streisand's Guilty Pleasures.
This year, SSL responded to the AWS 900's extraordinary success by introducing the AWS 900+, featuring new control protocols for a wide range of digital audio workstations including NuendoT, SonarT, Digital PerformerT and LogicT. The AWS 900+ also builds on the successful formula with enhancements to the displays and meters, and a sleek 'platinum' styling.
In just a few months, the AWS 900+ has become the console of choice for several high-profile artists and studios including Jamaican reggaeton artist Lenky; engineer/producer Rafa Sardina; Puerto Rico-based reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee; eLabs, the new media and technologies division of the Universal Music Group; music distributor BCD Music; and musician/collector Bob Jabour.
The AWS 900+ is still the only console that provides the dual benefits of a fully featured SuperAnalogueT signal path coupled with a comprehensive DAW controller. Key features include SSL's legendary SuperAnalogueT mic pre's and signal processing; full monitoring up to 5.1-channel surround sound; direct control of DAW recording, editing and mixing functions; and flexible signal routing.
Additional features include greater bandwidth than 192kHz recorders; twin curve SSL E and G Series 4-band parametric equalization; assignable SSL dynamics section with gate, expander and compressor/limiter; G Series Stereo main mix buss compressor; flexible processing order; balanced circuitry throughout; oxygen-free cable throughout; and metering on all channels and main outputs.
"Audio professionals need professional tools to meet the technical and creative demands of their work," commented Niall Feldman, director of Product Marketing, Solid State Logic. "Engineers and producers accustomed to mixing on large-format analogue consoles have long expressed dissatisfaction with mixing 'in the box,' and other constraints associated with digital audio workstations. We feel that the AWS 900 and AWS 900+ offer the ideal solution, providing audio professionals with the best of all worlds. It is an ideal console for those who love analogue but work digital. With over 200 installations, we are thrilled that the professional audio industry wholeheartedly agrees."
