First-ever London Film and Media Trade Mission to Shanghai delegation named

A high-profile delegation of London film and media businesses together with key members of the UK film industry is set to visit Shanghai, 14-20 June 2006, to meet potential business contacts and investors and to participate in a cultural exchange between the two cities.
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) is funding the official delegation that comprises of representatives from seven London-based film and media businesses: John Chang (KAI Computer Services); Andrew Keogh (Fresh Paint Pictures); Arjun Chatterji (Mangonoir Films); Jeremy Pelzer (Ealing Studios); Beth Sanders (Silk and Steel Productions); Paul Raphael (Starfield Productions); and Thu’ Nguyen (Minh Productions).
The official delegation forms part of a larger London trade mission, which includes film-maker Anthony Minghella; Nick Smith (Pinewood Studios); Colin Brown (Cinesite Europe); Nik Powell (National Film and Television School); as well as representatives from Film London, the Mayor of London’s Office, UKTI and the British Council.
The week-long trade mission will incorporate visits to key Shanghai film industry players and studios; include market briefing sessions by British Embassy commercial staff and attendance at a Cass Business School/Film Business Academy seminar; participation in an official Chino-European co-production forum; and a presence at the Shanghai International Film and TV Market.
Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London said: “Shanghai is one of the great international film cities. We are confident this mission will provide the opportunity to discuss real cooperation on a range of commercial initiatives and forge long-term educational and cultural links that will have great benefit to the capital’s industry.”
The trade mission is supported by UK Trade and Investment, the London Development Agency through Creative London, and the Mayor of London.
