DIRECTOR OF MEDIA ANTENNA LEAVES

DIRECTOR of MEDIA Antenna Scotland, Louise Scott, is leaving after almost five years at Antenna.
Louise came back to Scotland in 1995 to run Antenna, replacing Margaret O’Connor, after working as a consultant in Brussels for six years.
She is moving on to become Director of Nations and Regions for Skillset, the UK’s National Training Organisation for the film, TV, video, radio and multimedia industry, based in Glasgow.
With Louise at the helm, Scotland brought in more European funding than ever.
In 1999, a total of EURO 853,000 was contributed to Scotland from the MEDIA Programme, up substantially from EURO 207,000 in 1996, the first year of MEDIA 2.
Scott drove the push for Scotland to be included at the Nordisk Forum, the Nordic documentary business event.
In 1999, for the first time ever, non-Nordic companies from Scotland were invited to pitch projects to a round table of commissioners with great results. These included a four-country pre-sale deal, development finance and excellent contacts.
