Students from Arts Institute triumph at BBC South's Big Screen Online Film Festival

Three film students from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth have triumphed in the Drama category at the 2005/06 BBC South’s Big Screen Online Film Festival Awards Ceremony, held at the Harbour Lights Picture House in Southampton.
Rob Brown, a 1st year student on the BA (Hons) Film Production course at the Institute was awarded First Prize in the Drama category, taking home the coveted BBC award for his short film, ‘Family Portrait’, while Sarah Grohnert and Damon Crane were shortlisted in the Drama category for their short film, ‘Regardez’.
The Big Screen is the online film festival for the BBC Hampshire and Dorset websites. It has been running for four years and showcases the best in new local filmmaking talent amongst students, amateur filmmakers and up & coming independent producers in the South. The shortlisted entries were judged by BBC Film Critic Mark Kermode, who was unable to hand out the awards at the ceremony due to other commitments at the Cannes Film Festival, but provided comments on each of the shortlisted films via a pre-recorded piece, before introducing each of the winning films which were screened at the festival.
