Link Research named recipients of prestigious IABM Peter Wayne Award

The IABM has announced that the winner of this year's prestigious Peter Wayne Award, now in its fifteenth year of presentation by the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM), is Link Research Ltd, part of the Vislink Group.
The Peter Wayne Award is one of the premier awards recognising leadership in technical design and innovation and was awarded at IBC.
Link Research Ltd won the award for its new Cellular Diversity product. This is the second time that the company has won the award - the first being back in 2002.
Len Mann, Link Research Managing Director, said: "To win this award for a second time is truly fantastic."
The Cellular Diversity concept is a new way of deploying wireless TV cameras to roam around built-up areas for newsgathering. It will also be used to film sports events in stadiums and large outdoor venues.
The judges also nominated Tandberg for its innovative HD TV Advanced Video Encoder, and Mediornet for the Mediornet X Switch Optical Network, to receive Recognition of Excellence awards. These additional awards were introduced in 1999 to acknowledge the diversity of products spanning a wide spectrum of applications including both software and hardware solutions and are also given at IBC.
Eagerly sought after, this year's award attracted a record 45 entries from around the world. The IABM invites entries from all IBC exhibitors irrespective of whether they are IABM members. Representing a wide spectrum of internationally recognised industry leaders, this year's judging panel of eight was chaired by David Bradshaw from The Digital Television Group (DTG).
Making the presentation, IABM Chair David MacGregor praised the high standards and diversity of the applications and thanked the judges for their careful consideration and nomination of highly deserving winners from what was a fiercely competitive field of entries.
