3 BEAR ANIMATIONS WIN ‘NITTY & GRITTY’ COMMISSION

News Image
3 BEAR Animations were recently commissioned by Border Television to create the animated titles and stings for ‘The Nitty & Gritty Club’, Border TV's new children’s programme beginning March 3.
‘The Nitty & Gritty Club’ titles were designed, written, animated and directed by Bryony Catlow, Cadi Catlow and Linnhe Catlow in their Kirkby Stephen studio, where the 90 seconds of animation were shot in just over three weeks.
It has also been announced that Internet distributors, Atom Films, will soon be including 3 Bear short ‘And The Winner Is...’ on their entertainment website. 3 Bear Animations joins a growing number of animation companies from around the world who have signed with Atom Films, the most famous being Bristol-based Aardman Animation who signed their ‘Angry Kid’ series to Atom Films last year.
‘And The Winner Is...’ was made as an independent short film by the Catlow sisters in 1999 and was funded by Sgrin, the Media Agency for Wales. Since May 1999 the film has screened at 26 international film festivals, including the Manchester International Film Festival, where it won 'Best Animation', and the Seoul International Animation Festival in South Korea.
