New bfi 'Black World' cinema project to be unveiled

The British Film Institute (bfi) has announced the imminent launch of a major national initiative entitled 'Black World - A Revolution on Screen'.
The project celebrates and promotes international black cinema on an unprecedented scale and will feature new theatrical releases, new DVD releases, live music events, debates, new publications, education events and much more.
Black World is described as "absolutely integral" to the bfi's commitment to nurturing and promoting as diverse a range of moving image culture across the UK to as wide an audience as possible.
Black World demonstrates the enormous contribution that black filmmakers have made to international cinema and the bfi will be touring the programme regionally to engage with new and younger audiences, as well as those more culturally diverse, across the nation.
