Boxer Systems complete installation for Universal Music

Boxer Systems has announced the installation of hardware, software and integration solutions for Universal Music's new west London facility.
Universal Music Group contracted Boxer Systems to implement the digitisation of their vast video archive, leading to total digital distribution of their product.
With Boxer's broad range of experience in broadcasting, information technology and systems integration, an extensive consultation process occurred prior to the contract being started to define the requirements.
David Pollard of Universal Music said: "I have worked with Andy Wray of
Boxer for a very long time now and I first approached him with the concept for this system in 2002. He has devoted many hours of hard work researching the system and the final installation owes a lot to his vision."
Combining broadcast server technologies with IT storage and a bespoke Intranet asset management programme, Boxer designed a system that allowed for thorough quality control on ingest, automated archiving and computer controlled duplication to create a facility that brings many benefits to Universal.
