HTV AND US WORKSHOPS JOIN FORCES

HTV WEST Drama Workshop are to play host to members of the Cape Fear Acting Academy from the United States of America, which visits next month.
The 20-strong drama group, who are aged between 13 and-17-years-old, will be visiting the HTV workshop for a special joint workshop on April 14.
Appearing at The Hope Centre in Hotwells, Bristol, they will be performing their production of Tina Howe's Museum. Following the performance members of the Cape Fear Academy and HTV West's own Workshop will be joining forces to take part in a special workshop.
HTV Workshop Leader Adam Fresco said: "This is an exciting opportunity for young people from both sides of the Atlantic to meet, greet, work and play together; to learn more about our two cultures and have fun! We look forward to the possibility of a reciprocal trip to Cape Fear in the near future!"
In a recent email to Adam, Cape Fear Academy leader John Fennell said how much he and his students had enjoyed watching a VHS tape of the HTV Workshop production ‘Remote Control’.
"What an ambitious and spectacular project. My students were suitably awed, intimidated, and thoroughly impressed," he said. "I personally am looking forward to meeting you and your students. Having seen you in action on the ‘Remote Control’ video I know there's so much I and my students can learn from you and your talented young actors, dancers, and musicians. I love the fact that you tackle such a ‘hair-brained’ project as ‘Remote Control’ with its massive cast in Bristol Cathedral no less! You must all be a bit crazed which makes you kindred spirits indeed!"
Members of the Cape Fear Academy are in the country for just one week but have already invited HTV members to make a return trip to the USA at some stage in the future. (CD)
