ITC BOARD REAPPOINTMENTS CONFIRMED

THE CULTURE Secretary Chris Smith has announced that Alastair Balls, Sir Michael Checkland and Michael Shea will be reappointed to the board of the Independent Television Commission (ITC).
Alastair Balls is to be reappointed from January 1, 2002 until December 31, 2002. Sir Michael Checkland is to be reappointed from July 1, 2001 until December 31, 2002.
The Culture Secretary also announced the appointment of Dr Chitra Bharucha as a member with special regard for the concerns of Northern Ireland. The appointment will be from April 12, 2001 until April 30, 2003. (CD)
