FORD PROMOTED AT CHANNEL 5

CHANNEL 5 have announced that Jeff Ford has been promoted to Director of Acquisitions.
Previously Controller of Acquisitions Ford, who masterminded 5's poaching of the Australian soap ‘Home & Away’ from ITV, will adopt his new title immediately.
Channel 5 Chief Executive, Dawn Airey, said: "This well deserved promotion is in recognition of Jeff's critical contribution to the channel's success as well as the excellent deals he has done and continues to do.
"He is one of the best negotiators in the business, getting maximum value from his significant budget with great professionalism and skill."
Ford said: "I'm delighted at this recognition which is a testimony to the hard work and dedication of the Acquisitions team at 5.
"Our portfolio of films has never been stronger and I look forward to continuing to build upon the channel's reputation as the leading terrestrial broadcaster of feature films."
The appointment follows 5's recent signing of a series of high profile film deals with major Hollywood studios including a deal with Universal to secure the terrestrial premiere of multi-Oscar winner ‘Gladiator’ for the channel. (CD)
