ANIMO FOR MAC OS X ANNOUNCED
CAMBRIDGE Animation Systems have announced Animo for Mac OS X, Apple's next-generation operating system.
Animo seamlessly integrates 2D and 3D animation for development of feature films, animated television series, commercials, games and multimedia projects.
Phil Barrett, Chief Technology Officer for Cambridge Animation Systems, said: “Bringing Animo to Mac OS X represents a major opportunity to extend our user base. Mac OS X and the Power Mac G4 offer superior desktop performance. Our product strategy for the future now includes a commitment to releasing new products for the Mac.”
New versions of Animo for Mac OS X will offer the same functionality as their counterparts running on Windows and IRIX operating systems. Users will be able to seamlessly exchange files among Animo systems running on the three major computing platforms.
Cambridge Animation Systems are developers of Animo software, as well as Inkworks, Swiffworks and other 3D animation plug-ins. Animo is the first software package to seamlessly integrate 2D and 3D animation. It has an installed base of 3,000 seats in more than 50 countries. (CD)
