NIFTC launch new programme for small film and television companies

A new scheme, The Film & Television Creative Entrepreneurship Programme, has been launched for small companies based in Belfast and working in the film and television industry.
The programme, which is designed to improve business skills and to research funding for company and project development, has been primarily financed by Belfast City Council and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment’s Building Sustainable Prosperity programme. The NIFTC has contributed both financially and with in-kind commitment of time.
The programme will be conducted with a series of meetings, intensive workshops and on-line support. External experts will be brought in as and when required.
The programme will be delivered on behalf of the NIFTC by Olsberg SPI, a London based consultancy which focuses on the film, television and related media industries. Olsberg SPI has a strong track record in advising on public policy for national and regional media bodies and in various assignments for private companies in the media field.
A maximum of 10 companies can be accepted on to the programme.
Richard Williams, NIFTC Chief Executive, said: “This initiative is incredibly valuable for the local independent production sector, a lot of which fall within the small company bracket. The NIFTC has ensured with the appointment of Olsberg SPI that the highest level of specialist advice is made available to the participating companies."
