AFA relocates west coast operation to larger facility

A.F. Associates, (AFA), part of Ascent Media Network Services, has moved its US west coast operation and approximately 90 employees to a larger 32,300 sq. ft. facility in San Jose, California.
This expansion follows AFA’s acquisition of the former Sony Systems Integration Group, previously based in San Jose.
A leader in the design and integration of turnkey systems for broadcast, cable and broadband, AFA now has full service operations on both coasts. The San Jose building houses project management, engineering, sales, administration, and a large installation area capable of accommodating many large projects, as well as multiple 53’ mobile units, simultaneously.
“Our new San Jose facility more than doubles AFA’s integration resources, and helps us meet the demands of our growing global business," said Tom Canavan, AFA President. “It enables us to provide more localised project support to the western regions of the US, better response to Asian clients, and adds significant additional capacity for mobile unit projects."
Recent San Jose-based projects include the design and build of Wealth TV, a high definition program channel, a new facility for KNTV television, and a worldwide broadcasting centre, production office, and news centre serving military and civilians for AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio and Television Service).
