Zixi Names John Towers As Chief Financial Officer

Zixi, a leader in live video delivery and workflow orchestration, has appointed John Towers as Chief Financial Officer.

With more than 20 years' experience across media and entertainment in senior finance and operating roles at Sony, Deluxe and Fabric Data, Towers will lead Zixi’s finance organisation as the company scales to meet accelerating demand for IP-based live video.

Towers joins from Fabric Data, a SaaS provider that offers a single source of truth for entertainment metadata, where he served as CFO for three years and helped expand the firm’s operations and services.

Before Fabric Data, he spent two years in corporate development at Deluxe after overseeing the sale of Sony’s digital video distribution business to Deluxe.

At Sony, Towers became CFO of the digital video distribution division in 2012 as the sector embraced OTT, later advancing to COO and President. Earlier, he was CFO of the Sony unit manufacturing Blu-ray discs in the United States and worked on the format’s 2006 launch. He began his career in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including a five-year posting in Paris.
