Cinegy Partners With SAMA Digital Media Solutions

Cinegy GmbH, a leading provider of software-defined television technology, has entered into a new partnership with South Korea's systems integrator and distributor SAMA Digital Media Solutions Inc (SAMA DMS).

The collaboration was presented publicly at the KOBA show in May.

SAMA DMS has supplied advanced media technologies across South‑east Asia for more than five decades and represents many prominent media-tech brands. At KOBA, Cinegy demonstrated a fully software-driven architecture featuring Cinegy Air for playout and presentation; Cinegy Capture for ingest and asset management; Cinegy Convert and Cinegy Encode for video processing; Cinegy Multiviewer; and Cinegy Title for graphics creation and population.

"We have chosen to partner with Cinegy because we have a very clear shared vision for the future of media architectures," said Kiwhan Inn, President and CEO at SAMA DMS. "Cinegy gives us a truly software-defined television workflow, allowing us to replace rigid, expensive legacy hardware with a flexible, network-based infrastructure.

"Cinegy's innovative use of GPU acceleration for video processing – like offloading encoding to NVIDIA GPUs – means we can design architectures handling immense data bandwidth, even for new formats like Ultra HD, without CPU bottlenecks," Inn said. "By using standard IT hardware, and remote processing through cloud-native applications, Cinegy significantly reduces total cost of ownership while maximizing operational efficiency."

Andrew Ward, business development manager at Cinegy, added: "It was very exciting to meet the team at SAMA DMS and discover how closely aligned our visions are. The team quickly understood our design thinking, how our software applications interact, and how easily they build into larger systems to deliver real value for end users. This is a great partnership for Cinegy, and we look forward to delivering on creative power for broadcasters and media enterprises in the region."
