Amagi Appoints Martin Wacker To Lead Sales For DACH And CEE

Cloud-based media technology company Amagi has appointed Martin Wacker as Head of Sales for DACH and CEE, a move aimed at accelerating its expansion across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Central and Eastern Europe.

Based in Hamburg, Wacker will lead Amagi's regional growth strategy as the company increases its focus on one of Europe's most influential broadcast and streaming markets.

Germany remains a key market for broadcasters and streaming providers, with one of Europe’s largest television advertising sectors and a population of around 84 million. The country’s media landscape is characterized by its dual broadcasting system, which combines a strong public broadcasting infrastructure with major commercial networks.

Amagi said the appointment comes as broadcasters and streaming platforms across Germany continue to increase investment in IP-based distribution, FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV), and AI-driven media workflows, creating growing demand for cloud-native broadcast and streaming solutions.

Wacker brings more than 20 years of experience across media, broadcast, and digital technology. His career includes senior leadership positions at German broadcasters RTL and Kabel1, as well as roles in film and post-production companies, advertising agencies, and marketing technology providers.

He has also founded three companies and helped guide two startups into the European market, with experience spanning international business development, digital transformation, and organisational growth.
