Vaddio Launches SpeakerVIEW Automated Camera Tracking Solution
Vaddio, a brand of Legrand | AV, has launched SpeakerVIEW, a new intelligent camera automation solution designed to improve engagement in corporate meetings and higher education environments.
The system uses directional audio data from ceiling microphone arrays to automatically identify active speakers and direct Vaddio PTZ cameras to frame them in real time. SpeakerVIEW is available either as a dedicated hardware controller or as a free firmware update for existing Vaddio EasyIP Mixer and EasyIP Dock customers.
According to the company, the technology addresses a common issue in hybrid meetings and lecture spaces where cameras fail to keep speakers in frame, reducing engagement for remote participants.
SpeakerVIEW works by using directional audio captured from ceiling microphone arrays to detect not only speech, but also the location of the speaker. The system then automatically adjusts connected cameras without requiring a dedicated AV operator.
"SpeakerVIEW represents the first step in Vaddio's broader automation strategy, and it answers a question we’ve been hearing from customers for years: 'How do I make my cameras automatically follow the conversation?'" said Arnoud Helmantel. "Whether customers are buying a new controller or simply updating the firmware on equipment they already own, SpeakerVIEW delivers a fundamentally better meeting and learning experience without added hardware or complexity."
The platform supports seamless switching between multiple cameras as conversations move around a room. Administrators can also configure speaker priority settings to keep a presenter in focus, widen shots when remote participants speak, and manage scenarios involving silence or multiple simultaneous speakers.
Vaddio said the SpeakerVIEW Controller is designed for larger spaces and can support up to eight microphone arrays while controlling devices including the Vaddio AV Bridge 2x1, EasyIP Decoder, and IntelliSHOT ePTZ. Existing EasyIP Mixer and EasyIP Dock users can activate SpeakerVIEW through a firmware update at no additional hardware cost.
At launch, the technology is compatible with Shure MXA920 and MXA910 microphone arrays, as well as Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling Medium microphone arrays.
The company added that SpeakerVIEW-enabled systems are designed to work with all major video conferencing platforms through standard USB video and audio outputs, making the technology suitable for university lecture halls, classrooms and corporate conference rooms.
