Ikegami to Celebrate 80th Anniversary with Viewfinder Debuts at Broadcast Asia 2026
At Broadcast Asia 2026 (Stand 5D3-1), Ikegami will mark its 80th anniversary in television production imaging by premiering two advanced viewfinders alongside its latest UNICAM XE camera range. Making its regional debut, the VFE-P07D combines a 0.7-inch monocular OLED display with a tiltable 3.5-inch TFT LCD monitor, offering operators built-in waveform, vectorscope, and audio metering tools.
Alongside it, the 7-inch VFE-P711AD high-resolution OLED viewfinder debuts to provide precise chroma rendition and exceptional contrast in high-ambient-light environments. These monitoring solutions seamlessly integrate with Ikegami’s global-shutter, ST 2110-compliant camera systems, reinforcing the company's commitment to low-latency, high-dynamic-range production pipelines.
BROADCAST ASIA PREMIERE: Ikegami VFE-P07D monocular OLED viewfinder with tiltable 3.5-inch LCD monitor
The new VFE-P07D is monocular OLED viewfinder augmented by a tiltable ultra-compact 3.5-inch TFT LCD monitor display. The viewfinder attaches easily to shoulder-mounting and studio-format cameras in the UNICAM XE series. Core of the monocular display is a 0.7-inch 16 x 9 aspect ratio OLED with a fast response time, 200 cd/metre-squared brightness and integral magnifying lens. Located just above, the 3.5-inch TFT LCD monitor has 450 cd/metre-squared brightness and 170 degree horizontal/vertical viewing angles. The OLED viewfinder and LCD monitor displays both have 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 16.7 million color capability. The monitor screen can face forwards or be adjusted laterally through 180 degrees. Tilt angle is adjustable through more than 120 degrees. Waveform, vectorscope and audio metering tools can accessed easily. Ikegami cameras compatible with the new viewfinder include the UNICAM XE HDK-X500, UHK-X600, portable UHK-X700, plus the UHK-X700RF wireless camera. All incorporate 3-CMOS global-shutter imagers and fully conform to ITU-R BT.2020 standard HDR.
BROADCAST ASIA PREMIERE: Ikegami VFE-P711AD 7-inch OLED viewfinder
The new VFE-P711AD is a 7-inch high resolution OLED model compatible with all UNICAM-XE and UNICAM-HD cameras. Developed from the established VFL-P700AD LCD viewfinder, the OLED version offers precise chroma rendition combined with high brightness and wide contrast ratio, ensuring clear visibility even in environments with intense ambient light. The fast response time of the OLED panel is particularly useful when focusing and framing content in high frame rate mode. An integrated waveform monitor and vectorscope plus audio level metering further enhance the VFE-P711AD’s operability in the field. The viewfinder also has front-facing tally indicators plus a rear-facing tally. All accessories that fit the existing VFL-P700AD LCD model are compatible with the new OLED viewfinder. The viewfinder can also be used as a field monitor for an external 3G-SDI feed. Power can be sourced directly from the camera or external 12 volt DC, allowing standalone operation. Energy consumption is approximately 12 watts. Dimensions and weight of the viewfinder are 232 x 150 x 73 mm WHD, 1.1 kg.
ALSO PROMOTING:
Ikegami UNICAM XE-series cameras
• No-compromise cameras for the HDR, HFR, IP and UHD era, the UHK-X700 and UHK-X600 incorporate three ⅔-inch CMOS 4K sensors with global shutter architecture. An integral AXII video processor enables direct 12G-SDI output from the camera head as well as HFR capture. The UHK-X750 and UHK-X650 are hard-body full studio models sharing the same features.
• The HDK-X500 is a multiformat HD portable camera system with a high sensitivity of F11 and 62 dB signal to noise ratio. Features include 3G connectivity and advanced color management.
• A SMPTE ST 2110 compliant IPX-100 extension unit in a compact and power-efficient half-rack-width 2U. It supports bidirectional optical transmission and camera-head power delivery via a composite opto-electrical cable. Optional software upgrades include JPEG XS support. The IPX-100 serves as an alternative to the BSX-100 base station which offers baseband and optional IP signal interface.
Compact/POV cameras
• The UHL-X40 is designed for PTZ use in studios as well as outdoor applications such as sports close-ups, theatre-stage video capture, weather monitoring and point-of-view imaging. Two-piece construction allows remote control up to six miles between head and CCU using just a duplex fiber cable. The UHL-F4000 variant is designed for use in applications such as aerial video capture across an extremely wide range of night or daytime conditions. Image adjustment capabilities include haze removal and digital zoom.
• The UHL-43 is a box-style multi-purpose camera for applications such as parliamentary television, point-of-view image capture, weather coverage, traffic surveillance and public security monitoring. Available as an HD-HDR model, the UHL-43 can be upgraded via a retrospective software update to deliver 4K-UHD. The camera head can be used on practically any support device such as a shoulder brace, long-reach arm or overhead mount.
Ikegami camera control
• The OCP-500 is a slimline panel which takes up minimal desk space while still offering complete remote control of all Ikegami UNICAM XE and UNICAM HD camera functions, including full setup adjustment via an LCD touchscreen and associated rotary encoders. Each OCP-500 panel is just 82 mm wide, allowing up to five OCP-500 units to fit into the same desktop footprint as four Ikegami OCP-300 remote camera controllers.
• The VMP virtual master control panel control allows up to 100 cameras to be managed from a single Windows PC. Based on Ikegami's established MCP-300, it includes complete camera setup and control, file management and transfer, and camera diagnostics. The VMP can be combined with physical Ikegami OCPs and MCPs via a local network.
• XE WebView is a web-based tool designed for the setup, configuration and supervision of its broadcast camera systems, particularly when integrated with IP-based infrastructure such as the IPX-100 IP extension unit.
Ikegami broadcast monitors
• Newest addition to the Ikegami 60 series space-saving high-quality multiformat LCD monitors, the HLM-2460WA incorporates a 24-inch panel with a WUXGA resolution (ideal for video editing applications) and a high contrast ratio of 1800:1. TSL V5.0 protocol allows tally and UMD displays to be integrated via Ethernet, making it well-suited for integration into monitor walls.•
• The HQLM-3120W is an HDR-compatible multiformat broadcast monitor featuring a 31.1-inch 4096 × 2160 pixel 10-bit IPS LCD panel with LED backlight, achieving high contrast (1500:1), wide color gamut and wide viewing angles. It offers standard support for 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI Q/L (SQD/2SI), HD-SDI and HDMI (HDCP 2.2 compatible).
• The ULE-217-HDR is a competitively priced Full-HD HDR/SDR video quality monitor designed for use in studio control rooms, mobile production units and post-production suites. Compact and energy efficient, the monitor has a 21.5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel LED display with 1,000 nits brightness.
