VLV Honours 2025 Broadcasting Excellence At London Ceremony

Now in its 34th year, the VLV Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting took place on 30 April 2026 at The Geological Society in central London, hosted by Tony Hall and broadcaster Roger Bolton. The ceremony celebrated outstanding television and audio from 2025.

In television, Blue Lights was named Best TV Drama 2025 (BBC One), Have I Got News For You took Best TV Arts/Entertainment Programme 2025 (BBC One) and Channel 4 News won Best TV News and Factual Programme 2025 (Channel 4). Katya Adler was recognised as Best Contributor to TV 2025.

On radio, The News Quiz won Best Radio Comedy 2025 (BBC Radio 4), Murder in the Cathedral claimed Best Radio Drama 2025 (BBC Radio 4), The Life Scientific secured Best Radio News and Factual Programme 2025 (BBC Radio 4) and Private Passions received Best Radio Music and Arts Programme 2025 (BBC Radio 3). Paddy O'Connell was named Best Contributor to Radio 2025.

Special honours included Best Children's Programme 2025 for Sky Kids Investigates: World. War. Me., the Naomi Sargant Award 2025 for Rebecca Atkinson for her pioneering work on disability representation and accessibility in children's television, and a Special Award marking the BBC Proms centenary for its enduring contribution to public service broadcasting.

The awards are nominated and voted for by members of the Voice of the Listener & Viewer, placing listeners and viewers at the heart of the judging. A full recording of the ceremony will be available to view shortly.
