AJA Agrees To Acquire Comprimato

AJA Video Systems has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Comprimato, a provider of live video encoding and processing software, in a move aimed at strengthening its IP streaming portfolio.

The acquisition is expected to bring together the development teams of both companies, supporting further advancement of AJA’s BRIDGE LIVE family of IP streaming products. Once completed, the deal is intended to accelerate innovation in streaming workflows, improve efficiency, and create new content monetisation opportunities for customers.

As part of the agreement, AJA will take ownership of Comprimato's software portfolio, which includes its Live Transcoder, Live Standards Conversion tools, the Twenty-One SMPTE ST 2110 encoding appliance, and the JPEG 2000 Codec SDK.

Comprimato's CEO and co-founder Jiří Matela, along with the company's leadership, development and operations teams, will join AJA following the close of the transaction. The company will continue to operate as a separate brand under AJA and maintain its European offices, while existing sales channels, customer support and product availability will remain unchanged. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
