3Play Media Launches AI Dubbing Tool
3Play Media has announced the launch of a new AI dubbing solution designed to help YouTube creators expand their reach to global audiences.
The Boston-based company said the new offering combines AI-powered dubbing with human expertise and built-in performance analytics, enabling creators to localise content more effectively without needing a dedicated localisation team.
The solution builds on 3Play Media's experience working with major broadcasters and streaming platforms, bringing enterprise-level tools to the creator economy. It allows users to identify which content to dub, select appropriate languages, and measure the impact of localisation through data insights.
"We've spent over 15 years building human-in-the-loop workflows at scale. Now we're bringing that same rigor to creators so they can see exactly where their audience is, dub the right content, and know whether it's working," said Josh Miller, Co-founder and Co-CEO of 3Play Media.
The launch comes as demand for multilingual content continues to grow. According to YouTube, more than 40% of watch time on dubbed videos comes from viewers who do not speak the original language. However, the company noted that poor-quality dubbing can harm audience engagement and brand perception.
3Play Media said its solution addresses common challenges faced by creators, including inconsistent AI-generated audio, high costs associated with traditional localisation services, and a lack of performance data.
The platform offers a range of features including channel analytics, language prioritisation, voice casting, cultural adaptation, and direct delivery to YouTube. Multiple service tiers are available, allowing creators to tailor production quality depending on their goals.
Each dubbed video undergoes a process that includes human-reviewed scripting and culturally adapted dialogue, with voice options ranging from AI-generated voice clones to a library of native-language synthetic voices.
"The creator economy doesn't need another AI tool that produces a file and disappears," said Chris Antunes, Co-founder and Co-CEO of 3Play Media. "What creators and their teams actually need is a partner who combines the speed of AI with the judgment of real people and then shows them the data on what's working. That's what we've built. The AI makes the workflow fast and scalable. The humans make the output something a creator would actually put their name on."
The system integrates directly with a creator's YouTube data, analysing metrics such as views, watch time and revenue by region to guide localisation decisions. Early pilot programmes with established creators have shown encouraging results in reaching new international audiences.
"The biggest challenge for creators going global isn't finding a dubbing vendor, it's finding a partner who actually understands what it takes to make localization perform on YouTube," said Luke Hale, Head of Media at CrunchLabs. "Most solutions hand you a dubbed file and call it done. What creators need is someone who knows the data, knows the platform, and can tell them not just how to dub, but what to dub and why. And ultimately, someone who understands that the dub itself has to be genuinely delightful — something audiences actually enjoy, not just tolerate. That's the gap 3Play is filling."
