Lawo To Unveil Next-Gen IP Infrastructure Innovation

Lawo is set to introduce a major new solution at the NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, as part of its continued push toward software-based and IP-native media infrastructure.

The announcement, which follows an initial reveal during the company's global online event on April 8, represents the next step in Lawo's converged media infrastructure strategy. The new solution is designed to accelerate system setup and improve operational efficiency across broadcast, live performance, recording and corporate AV environments, with a focus on making workflows faster, smarter and more agile.

Central to Lawo's approach is its HOME platform, which acts as the backbone of its IP ecosystem. The platform provides key services including device discovery, authentication and orchestration, while supporting role-based access control to enhance system security. It enables production environments to dynamically allocate resources and processing power in real time.

The HOME ecosystem is further extended through HOME Apps, a suite of containerised microservices that run on standard COTS servers. These applications can be deployed, scaled and reconfigured on demand, supporting a shift toward flexible, software-defined facilities where resources are allocated based on workload rather than fixed hardware.

At booth C2108, Lawo will showcase a wide range of HOME Apps, including its HOME Multiviewer. The server-based application supports SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, SRT and JPEG XS workflows, and can generate multiviewer layouts with up to 64 picture-in-picture tiles. A dynamic resolution management system works alongside Lawo's .edge platform to optimise CPU usage and bandwidth while maintaining monitoring quality.

Additional applications in the portfolio include tools for real-time UDX conversion with HDR processing, graphics insertion, stream transcoding, and functions such as colour correction, timecode generation and audio DSP. These can be launched or stopped as needed, enabling adaptable processing environments aligned with emerging Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) and Media Exchange Layer (MXL) frameworks.

Lawo will also present updated software for its mc²36, mc²56 and mc²96 production consoles, as well as its crystal broadcast mixing systems. Enhancements include a refined Strip Assign workflow for faster channel configuration and improved usability, along with deeper integration with Waves SuperRack for real-time plug-in processing. Security updates aligned with EBU R.143 standards are also included.

Supporting these developments is the HOME mc² DSP engine, which brings advanced mixing capabilities into a software-based environment. Running on standard CPU platforms, the engine supports large-scale channel processing, immersive formats and collaborative workflows, while allowing resources to be dynamically allocated within the HOME ecosystem.

As an example of its IP infrastructure in action, Lawo highlighted a deployment at the University of Nebraska’s HuskerVision facility. The installation connects multiple sports venues via a campus-wide SMPTE ST 2110 network, integrating SDI and IP workflows within a unified system designed for flexible, high-performance production.

Lawo said its full range of IP-native routing, software-based processing and dynamic resource management technologies will be on display throughout the show.
