Vinten Releases VEGA 1.4

News Image
Vinten has introduced version 1.4 of its VEGA Robotic Control System software, adding new safety features and greater versatility for broadcast environments.

The update's headline addition is a Software Collision Avoidance capability designed to deliver dynamic spatial awareness between moving robotic pedestals, fixed cameras and other mapped studio objects. The system continuously monitors positioning data to prevent collisions, protect equipment and maintain smooth operation during live and automated production.

Alongside the safety enhancements, VEGA 1.4 further expands its compatibility ecosystem by indirectly integrating PTZ systems, enabling unified control across a broad range of devices. Supported models include Panasonic AW-UE150/160, Sony FR-7/AM-7 and Canon CR-N series (100, 300, 350, 400, 500, 700). The release also supports Tecnopoint PTZ movement systems including Triton, Tuning ceiling and floor dollies, Totem columns and Simplo/Vario elevation units.

"Broadcasters are increasingly blending traditional robotic systems with PTZ solutions and demanding higher levels of automation safety," said Sergio Brighel, EVP of Robotics and Prompting at Videndum. "VEGA 1.4 not only unifies these worlds under one control environment but also adds an intelligent safety layer to protect operations and enhance confidence on the studio floor."

With the release of VEGA 1.4, Vinten continues to evolve its robotic control platform, positioning it as a precise, adaptable and safety-focused solution for the next generation of automated broadcast production.
