TimeDelay.tv cleans up ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

TimeDelay.tv, the UK's first company dedicated to broadcast compliance/censorship of live shows with a 1-10 second Time Delay Pipeline machine, can now enable broadcasters to instantly cut out rude words and pictures, ensuring compliance with Ofcom regulations.
The system has been used on ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me out of here!’, ‘Love on a Saturday Night’, 'Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' and now ‘Hells Kitchen’, for which a five second delay was used for both the ITV 1 and ITV 2 and live streaming shows, enabling Time Delay's D1 Pipeline to instantly cut sound/pictures or both, and inserting a secondary video/audio source.
As soon as the offending word is heard, a button is pressed for as long as the expletive occurs. A built in reaction time is triggered, and 5 seconds later the word comes out 'clean'.
All the operators can work within the Ofcom guidelines, and yet remain flexible to suit the needs of the producers.
The brand new Time Delay unit itself is only two units high, and can take either composite or SDI.
The Time Delay D1 Pipeline unit also features 10-bit video processing, with a primary video input complemented by an auxiliary/alternate video input. Audio processing is 24-bit, with four channels in and out, along with four auxiliary/alternate audio channels.
Audio in all channels can be selected for AES/EBU, digital or analogue, and can be switched with, or independent of, auxiliary video.
Time Delay's Darryl Rose said: "It has been a real privilege to work at Hells Kitchen with and incredible production team. Respecting the way that LWT does not want to offend viewers by strong language, TimeDelay.tv helped eliminate their fears, while the viewers at home will still watched a truly unique and enjoyable show
“Since Janet Jackson made a real 'boob' of herself at the Super bowl, many broadcasters in the UK are starting to think more about offending viewers, and TimeDelay.tv now has the perfect answer for them.
In fact, ABC Television (USA) now insists of a five second delay on any live show"
The Time Delay machine is available to purchase, or to hire with/without operator from www.TimeDelay.tv.
